Legal compliance and good practise – The EPLS (English Private Landlord Survey) asked questions of landlords and letting agents regarding their compliance with activities they are legally required to undertake as well as indicators of good practise, along with awareness of upcoming legislation.

Their answers are represented in the below infographic as seen on website.

As you can see nearly one-third of landlords were in the ‘demonstrating good practice’ cluster. This group was most likely to comply with all legal requirements, and most likely to adhere to good practice indicators.

Unfortunately mixed compliance and lower compliance awareness makes up almost half (46%) of all landlord and agent responses. You may wish to review the below and determine which cluster you fall into, or alternatively speak to MRC about legal compliance and demonstrating good practice.
